Dr. Wood received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Vermont in the laboratory of Dr. Paula Tracy followed by a post-doc under Dr. Alan Mast at the BloodCenter of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. His research interests include the role of TFPIα inhibiting prothrombinase during the initiation of coagulation; Protein S stabilization of the TFPIα/FXa inhibitory complex; and the role of platelets in optimizing the procoagulant properties of the prothrombinase complex. He has been awarded many honors including the Kenneth M. Brinkhous Young Investigator Award in Thrombosis, American Heart Association Council on Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology.
