Bio / Education:

I graduated from Lipscomb University in 2016 with a B.S. in Biochemistry. I am a first-year PhD student in Epidemiology and Biostatistics interested in studying genomic risk factors of non-Alzheimer's neuropathological phenotypes related to aging. Currently, I am performing a genome-wide association study on brain arteriolosclerosis, a neuropathological phenotype that was recently found to be associated with cognitive decline independently of Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia. I chose UK because of proximity to family, access to a plethora of neuropathological data through the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, and the flexibility the MD/PhD program gave in choosing PhD programs. If you have any questions about the program, feel free to email me!
